Meet The Diva

 Hello good people! My name is  Monette Young, and I'm the Diva.  Actually, my business is named My Diva Gourmet. I think it's a pretty accurate description because the dictionary defines a diva as "A person who exudes great style and personality with confidence" and Wikipedia defines a diva as "A singer, a woman of outstanding talent in the world of opera or pop music".

Ok.  So Let me clarify my definition.... Yes, I love to sing, I started singing at the age of 2 and performed at local churches. Throughout my hometown and was known as the little singing girl. ( I know that sounds corny, but its true). I was also classically trained in Opera.   While most people think that diva's have attitude issues, my mother would always put me in my place, if I ever showed any form of theatrics or disrespect (Big Red didn't take no mess).  As a result, I learned not to take myself so seriously.  I embrace my small town roots and try to find the joy or humor in just about any situation.

I have a style of my own and am proud of it!  I'm loud, I'm genuine and I have a thousand "country" sayings that were inspired by my grandparents.  I love people.  I love to cook. I love to talk.  My Diva Gourmet is a way for me to do all three and have some fun in the process.  

You may wonder what a chef, singer, radio personality, wife (of 20+ years) and mother of 4 can teach you?  Well, all I can say is, you should hang out with me for a while.  Cooking tips?  Kid questions?  Girlfriend talk?  Marriage questions?  With the Diva, you just never know.  I can't promise what you will see from day to day; but I promise that we will have fun,  you might learn something and I hope you will be glad you came.

I believe that positive energy can change the world and through sharing experiences that bring joy (or sorrow) other lives can be shaped.  Thank you for joining me on this ride.
